It's time to celebrate Halloween and Tea! What, you say, is the connection between tea and this scary day?! Why, I'll tell you: today, tea is universally enjoyed by all peoples from all cultures. However, sadly, we haven't always had this freedom to drink our tea. Back in the Dark Ages, those who wanted to drink tea had to brew and drink their concoctions in secret, and if they happened to be caught, they were persecuted, tortured, and called all sort of bad names. In these dark times, the true tea aficionados had to practice their craft in secret, and they were known to the outside world as "Witches" ...
[Editor's Note: Hmmm, we're somewhat suspect as to the veracity of this history. Tea wasn't introduced to Russia until 1618, and to England around 1650. The "Dark Ages" of Europe ended in approximately 1000 AD, well before Tea even made it there. Nevertheless, we'll let it ride ...]
Té House of Tea will be celebrating Halloween with free apple cider for children. Games and candies for everyone. Special
prizes for the trick or treaters who come in costume. Connie and Alyson (neither of which are witches) will be making some special brews! So, come join the fun, 6 to 8 pm, tomorrow, October 31.
