Another Té Movie!
Two months ago was Houston's "48 Hours Film Project". One local, energetic filmmaker approached us about using the tea house as a shooting location for his film -- he was looking for a nice, quiet place. "Sure", we said.
Unfortunately, he didn't complete his film editing on time, so his short film didn't make it into the official list of entries. However, he did eventually get it posted on the Internet, and yes, you will indeed see our calming, zen house of tea in the movie.
A word, though, about the project. It's a neat idea, and it's a great way to encourage up-and-coming filmmakers. Contests are held in several cities around the world. The idea is that you have to make a complete film in just 48 hours, from writing to the final edit. The subject of the film can be anything you want, but every entry must contain these common elements: a prop (this year, it was "big pink eraser"), a character ("communicable disease specialist"), and a line of dialogue (" You want the truth? So do I.").
Another word about this particular movie: in reality, our kitchen is clean ... very clean!
Here's the movie:, "Postcard from Paris". For some good laughs, take a look at the winning entry, "Morning Sickness". It's hilarious, well-filmed and well-acted, and features local Houston comedienne (and occasionally Kevin's soccer teammate) Sarah Tollemache. We think she has a future career in acting!
