Té Lovers Newsletter - Live Music and Open Mic

How is summer treating you so far?  Alternating between sweltering, humid days and getting belted by thunderstorms, right?!  We've noticed it's been raining a lot lately.  Not that we're complaining ... saves on having to water the lawn ... so what's with these sprinkler systems that run right in the middle of a downpour?!!  ::grin::

Live Music This Saturday - June 30

Continuing our World Music nights on Saturday, this weeks's event is featuring live Jazz & Blues music, from our very own  House of Tea Jazz band (yes, we have some very talented employees!)

Come around 9 pm, and stay for a chill evening.

Open Mic Night - July 7

Back by popular demand!  We hosted a very successful Open Mic Night last summer, but never got around to a repeat event.  By popular request, we are starting Open Mic Nights again; they'll be hosted the first Saturday of the month, starting on July 7.  We'll provide the PA system and mics, you provide the entertainment  :)

Last year's Open Mic was full of acoustic guitar performances, poetry readings, story-telling, and diary readings (yes, bring those embarrassing moments out of the closet!).   Be creative, but of course keep it concise -- don't hog the mic from the next person in line!

To sign up for Open Mic, visit the Open Mic page, (http://www.tehouseoftea.com/Events/openmic/) and  click on the Add Comment button.  Or, sign up at the tea house; there will be a sheet on the table near the door.

Tea Takes

How 'about another fun Tea poll?!  This one asks, "If you could be a famous tea person, who would you be?!"  Take the poll at: Tea Takes #2   (http://www.tehouseoftea.com/polls/poll2/).  Don't like the options available in the poll?  Well, go ahead and click  Add Comment  to make your own answers.  In other words,  tease us with your suggestions!!

Summer Refreshments

Our Japanese friends tell us, "back home, when it gets hot in the summer, everyone eats matcha shaved ice dessert".  Mmmm, sounds delicious.  So, we've bought a shaved ice machine, and will soon be experimenting with some home-made shaved ice dessert recipes featuring our delicious teas.  Talk about a delicious and healthy way to cool off!   Coming Soon.
